Prof. Emil Simeonov
Initiator of MathTime, Mathematician, Philosopher, and Musician.
Emil Simeonov is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Applied Mathematics & Physics at the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien and was Head of the Institute for Applied Mathematics and Natural Sciences there from 2010 to 2018. As a graduate of Technical Mathematics and of the Mathematics and Physics teaching program at TU Wien, he has been a hands-on early mathematics educator for more than two decades. In addition to his work as an ambassador for the Global Math Project, Simeonov is the initiator of the project “minimath – Institute for Early Mathematical Education“, which he runs together with Christian Schmid and the kindergarten teacher and elementary school teacher Daniela Mairinger. Minimath has been conducting courses for early mathematical education in kindergartens in Vienna and Lower Austria (as well as at other educational institutions such as the VHS or the ZOOM Children’s Museum) since 1998. Through his publishing house von Oemis, Simeonov also distributes workbooks for early mathematical education and a portfolio for teaching mathematics at educational institutions for elementary education.
Dr. Christine Orkisz Lang

Christine Orkisz Lang is a co-author of the International Baccalaureate’s Primary Years Programme (PYP) and most recently served as Primary School Principal at Vienna International School. She now supports school leaders, teachers, and students by designing innovative tools to manage curricula, teaching and learning objectives, and instructional and assessment methods. She is the founder of Core & More Education and has many years of school experience as a classroom and subject teacher, curriculum leader, and principal in U.S., Austrian, and international schools. For more than 30 years, she has led professional development for educators in a variety of leadership roles. She holds an MEd in Mathematics and a PhD in Linguistics/Inquiry-Based Learning.
